Our luxurious lodge has ten (10) bedrooms each with two (2) twin size beds and a private bathroom. Private lodge can be purchased for $8,000 per day in the high season and $6,000 per day in the low season. For a group of 16, the savings per person is $200 per day in the high season ($500 per day instead of $730) and $150 per day in the low season ($375 per day instead of $530).

No, there is no dress code at the lodge and the atmosphere is very casual. In the field, we suggest shorts or pants plus long or short sleeved camouflage or dark green shirts. Please do not wear khaki or light-colored shirts or hats in the field.

Yes, there are electric outlets available for your use. Appliances in Argentina require 220 volts so it is necessary to bring an electricity converter for travelers from the US. Additionally, a European adapter will be needed for two-pronged plugs. Ask for advice from any travel supply shop to ensure that you bring the necessary equipment.

Is it customary to tip at the lodge?

Tips for the lodge and field staff are not included in our prices. Tipping is discretionary, but we suggest $45 per day per hunter for the house staff. These tips are distributed evenly among the entire staff.
For the bird pick-up boys, we recommend $20 per day per hunter. Gifts such as camouflage caps, shirts and other hunting related items are also greatly appreciated by the bird pick-up boys.

Drive? Why drive when you can walk!? We have 5 dove hunting blinds within walking distance, and the rest are less than 10 minutes away.

Is Argentina a safe country?

Argentina is probably the safest country in South America, and there have been no recorded threats directed against travelers or foreign tourists in Argentina. Robberies and thefts do occur, and we strongly urge you to use common sense when touring. Take the same precautions that you would if you were traveling in any large city where crime is an everyday occurrence.

As in any popular tourist destination, tourists are sometimes targets of pickpockets, purse or camera snatchings, taxi theft and in some instances, muggings for the purpose of robbery. Your personal safety should not be taken for granted so we urge you to maintain a high level of situational awareness when touring outside your hotel or when soliciting transportation.

The most practical advice is don’t wear your Rolex around Buenos Aires.

Who will pick us up at the airport?

In Cordoba, you will be met by airport baggage handlers who will assist you in carrying your luggage. The baggage handler will lead you to a Los Chanares representative, and he will take you to the lodge.

Can I bring doves out of the country when I go home?

Yes. It is possible to take birds out of Cordoba but it is not permissible to take birds out of Buenos Aires. The cost of de-breasting and freezing 250 birds is $100.

At the airport, you be asked to present a copy of your hunting license and USFWS Form 3-177 which we provide for you at the lodge. You will need a cooler or hard-sided ice chest. Also bring duct tape and plastic re-sealable bags (e.g. Ziploc) as these are not commonly found in Argentina.

Please note that the cooler is considered an extra bag. Most airlines allow only 2 pieces of luggage to be checked.

What documents will I need when traveling to Argentina?
If you are a US citizen, you do not need to apply for a visa, but you will need to bring a valid passport. The passport expiration date must be at least 6 months after your arrival date. If you are not an American citizen, please check with the appropriate consulate in your country to find out if you will need a visa.
