The Lodge

Overview

Historically, Los Chanares was most known for the unique and convenient 5-minute drives to the field. More recently, however, our reputation for outstanding quality of food and accommodations has been a major attracting factor for our guests.

The deluxe accommodations at Los Chanares are of the highest quality. The private suites and the food, wine and service are exquisite and on par with famous, world class, five star hoteliers. Every aspect of our five star dove hunting lodge exudes the highest level of comfort and luxury while still maintaining a comfortable, familiar atmosphere.

Guests will enjoy gourmet three-course meals, the finest selection of Argentinean wines and authentic Cuban cigars. The friendly Los Chanares staff has a “can-do” attitude making it a vibrant and fun place to visit.

Accommodations

The Los Chanares Spanish colonial-style lodge was built in 2000. Our luxurious lodge has private suites that are each furnished with two twin sized beds, a fireplace, heating system, powder room and a private bathroom.

Each room is decorated with selections from our eclectic collection of hunting and fishing scenes. Two open hearth fireplaces heat the outdoor dining area and keep guests warm during the mild winter months.

Los Chanares recently underwent an expansion bringing number of private suites to 10. The new suites are double occupancy with private bathrooms. To celebrate our growth, we are happy to announce a special promotion for large groups. Rent the private lodge for $8,000 per day in the high season and $6,000 per day in the low season. In other words a group of 16 will pay $8,000 per day for the entire group or $500 per person per day. This is significantly less than the $730 per day new price.

During summer afternoons, guests can cool off in our large refreshing swimming pool. There is also a large open area with hammocks where guests can relax outdoors instead of in their rooms.

After every afternoon shoot, guests are treated to an evening cocktail and hors d’oeuvres in the lodge. It’s a time to reflect on the day by the impressive Texas fire pit or around the swimming pool. Guests really enjoy this time in the lodge to bond with family and new friends.

Food and Wine

Throughout the world, Argentina is best known for the quality beef and wine found in abundance here. Located in the heart of cattle country, Los Chanares is privy to some of the best quality beef in Argentina. At Los Chanares, guests will enjoy plentiful world class Argentinean asado (barbeque) for lunch. All meals are a deliciously perfect balance of simple Argentinean products mixed with a gourmet touch. Due to the large numbers of guests from Louisiana and Texas, Los Chanares proudly serves mouthwatering dove dishes including the world renowned dove pate.

Each dinner is accompanied by an impressive selection of the finest local wines from Mendoza. We also feature excellent wines from acclaimed vineyards including Catena Zapata and Andeluna. After dessert, enjoy the famous Chocolate Volcano or relax and enjoy a cigar with friends. Los Chanares’ David Perez is of Cuban ancestry and he ensures that there is always a large selection of Cuban cigars including Cohibas, Hoyo de Monterreys, Bolivar and Partagas.

170 grams butter
170 grams bitter chocolate
3 eggs
3 yolks
60 grams sugar
50 grams flour

PREPARATION:
Melt the butter and chocolate over hot water by placing the bowl over a pot of boiling water. The indirect heat keeps the chocolate from burning.

Mix the eggs, yolks and sugar well until they form a white mixture. Mix in the chocolate and butter followed by the flour.

Separate the mixture into small individually buttered receptacles. Bake at high temperature for 4 or 5 minutes. Do not over cook or the chocolate will not be soft inside.
